What was previously a challenging and difficult-to-access area has now been transformed into a beautiful gathering place by the sea – featuring a large chalk-white sandy beach, green lawn areas, scenic smooth coastal rocks, and a wide, solid boardwalk connecting the area to Åstø marina.

The area will be ready for use in May 2026, and we look forward to seeing cabin owners, guests, neighbors, and the local community enjoy it throughout the summer.

A new meeting place by the sea

The beach area consists of a large and inviting sandy beach with bright white shell sand, perfect for swimming, play, and relaxing summer days in the sun. Behind the beach, approximately 400 square meters of ready-made lawn have been established, offering plenty of space for sunbathing, picnics, play, and relaxation.

The beautiful coastal rock formations surrounding the area have been preserved and frame the beach in a natural and scenic way. Together with the sea, the marina, and the surrounding landscape, this creates a true Southern Norway idyll.

Boardwalk to Åstø marina

An important part of the project has been to better connect the beach area with the rest of Sørlandsleia and Åstø marina. Therefore, a wide and well-built boardwalk has been constructed from the beach to the marina.

Along the path, benches and tables have been placed, making the area not only a place for swimming and sunbathing, but also for a მშვიდ stroll, a cup of coffee by the sea, or a pleasant break with a view of the water.

Proud of the result

When the work began, it was almost difficult to imagine that the area could become as beautiful as it has. Even more impressive is that this has been achieved without using a single gram of dynamite.

Through skilled craftsmanship, smart solutions, and respect for the terrain, we have managed to develop an area that is functional, accessible, and beautiful – while preserving its natural qualities.
